Abtron has been in business for more than ten years; our management staff has an average of 16 years experience and the knowledge that by far exceeds most of our competitors. Our focus is to establish a new image of an environmental contractor by providing quality service and workmanship at a cost-effective price without hindrance to out client's normal operating procedures. We hope that our most serious competitors will then follow our lead thus making it difficult for the "rip and skip" contractors to survive in this industry. The principals of Abtron believe that the success of an environmental company is predicated on the quality and level of services provided. Our role as an environmental management firm is to bring together all necessary components to successfully complete each project.
Our primary service is to analyze, quantify, abate and solve problems relating to an array of hazardous materials. Any building with unresolved environmental issues is a contender for our services. However, we often are called in to handle the asbestos abatement projects or to assist in solving problems in hospitals, public schools and universities, industrial, residential, and commercial areas, in addition to government buildings. Our Knowledge of the environmental industry coupled with the advanced technologies, as well as, our strong ability to solve problems has enabled us to offer clients free professional consultation in setting up a safe and cost effective abatement program.
Within the last few years, we at Abtron have seen a trend rapidly increasing for owners, managing agents and building occupants to become concerned about the conditions present of environmental hazards within their environment, unfortunately, this was brought on by the numerous amounts of environmental contractors that enter into this industry with no knowledge and in most cases with no intention to perform the abatement operation properly. The general public awareness has put a lot more pressure on management and owners to select an environmental contractor who proves to be responsible. This is a very important decision due to the increasing cases of litigation involving negligence in the handling, removal and disposal of environmentally hazardous materials. We believe that more owners and managing agents will begin to seek out the services of an environmental company that can meet the criteria of a responsible contractor. We feel that Abtron would be an excellent candidate to handle the environmental needs of you company.
"Abtron embraces the responsibility to be good steward of the environmental service industry. We begin by maintaining the highest health & safety standards as the foundation to everything we do. All operations throughout the company incorporate the environment, health, safety and regulatory requirements into the decision-making process.
Abtron has a commitment to the environment and to the safety and well being of its employees and the general public, extends far beyond our business operations.

Asbestos is a name given to a group of naturally occurring mineral fibers commonly used in a variety of building construction materials for durability, insulation and fire resistance. In the past, Asbestos could be found in 3,000 different varieties of commercial products. Today, asbestos can be found in older homes erected prior to 1978 and most commonly as thermal insulation on boilers and pipes. Additionally, it can be found in the following other household materials:
Blown-in attic insulation
Vinyl floor tiles
Mastic (glue) that attaches floor tiles to concrete or wood
Some types of linoleum
Window caulking or glazing
Roofing and shingle materials
HVAC duct insulation (usually found in corrugated or flat paper form)
Siding material
Plaster
Fiber cement siding
Corrugated heavy duty panels
Fireproofing materials
It is important to understand that since Asbestos fibers are minuscule, they cannot be seen by the human eye; improperly removing these materials can release asbestos fibers into the air in homes, significantly and dangerously increasing asbestos levels in a home.
Under no circumstances should any unlicensed person conduct abatement activities unless under consultation with an abatement firm or state guidelines concerning the proper procedures. Unlicensed abatement can lead to potentially harmful inhalation of friable asbestos fibers, which can have serious health consequences.
Asbestos is odorless and can only be detected by using microscopic analysis.
We are committed to safely resolving your abatement concerns

Mold spores can be found almost anywhere because they can grow on virtually any organic substance or surface, as long as moisture and oxygen are present. When excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mold growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or unaddressed. Mold releases spores into the environment for reproduction, which triggers potentially serious health problems and structural damage to building materials.
The first step in solving an indoor mold problem is stopping the source of moisture. Next is to remove the mold growth. For significant mold growth you may need to contact a profession

HAZARDOUS MATERIAL REMEDIATION & DISPOSAL SERVICES
Hazardous waste comes in many forms; liquids, solids, gases, or sludge. Many forms of hazardous waste can be found in your home or business. Amongst the most commonly used hazardous materials that require special handling and disposal are mercury, household cleaners and chemicals, lights and bulbs, motor oil and paint. These chemicals can easily become Hazardous Materials, which pose a threat to humans and their environment, especially when improperly utilized..
A substance (gas, liquid, solid, or sludge) may be hazardous if it is ignitable, corrosive, toxic, or reactive. It's important to remember that precautions should always be taken when working with a hazardous substance.
Toxic: Poisonous materials like pesticides and expired medicines can be harmful (even deadly) if digested, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin.
Corrosive: Materials like battery acid and bleach can dissolve other materials, including metals and can cause severe burns
Ignitable: Flammable materials like gasoline and paint thinner can catch fire very easily.
Reactive: Unstable materials can explode or give off poisonous gases when mixed with water or other materials.
Among the most common materials covered under the service are:
Solvents, flammable solids and liquids, and detergents.
Propane tanks and aerosol cans.
Car and truck products, such as motor oil, lubricants, oil filters, and antifreeze.

Prior to the 1970s, household paints frequently contained lead. As lead paint ages, it can easily chip or crumble into dust. Exposure to lead based paint, can pose serious health risks and it’s particularly risky to children and pregnant woman.
New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene is the governing agency regulating the remediation of lead paint in homes where a child was diagnosed with lead poisoning. ABTRON Associates provides the following acceptable methods of remediation in accordance with NYC Health Code §173.14
Enclosure:
To safely reduce any exposure to lead based paint, the surface area can be covered with drywall or in the case of windowsills with vinyl or aluminum. Materials chosen for enclosure should be durable and fire resistant.
Replacement:
Replacing the components (such as windows, doors and woodwork) is often the safest and least expensive option.
Paint Removal Options:
Wet hand scraping with the aid of a non-flammable solvent – can be used in small work areas
Wet hand sanding
Heat Stripping using lower temperature heat guns followed by hand scraping.
Daily, lead based paint debris should be adequately misted with water, removed with either a wet mop or we duster and placed in appropriately labeled disposal bags or containers.
A HEPA-equipped vacuum should be kept on site at all times to ensure all surfaces are kept clean.
If you have been served with an Order to remediate, you have twenty one (21) days to respond to the Order. The remediation must be performed by a licensed EPA certified lead abatement contractor.
ABTRON is a certified US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead Remediation Contractor trained and qualified to safely and efficiently remove your lead based paint in accordance with all applicable state, city and federal regulations. Additionally, our project management team, supervisors and laborers are all licensed with the US EPA.
Additionally, we will provide you with a complete close out package including a clearance letter to present to the authorities as documentation that the work was performed in accordance with said laws.
